Job Description

Malta International Airport plc is looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with people within an Airport environment, are willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the Business Continuity department on a full-time basis.

Purpose of Position
Develop, maintain, or implement a business continuity management system and disaster recovery strategies and solutions for the Airport’s core operations, including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the corporate business continuity management system, namely, the framework documentation, training, allocation of resources, schedule of exercising and testing.
  • Interpret accepted standards and Business Continuity best practices, adapt to organizational requirements and document as departmental operating procedures.
  • Analyse the impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
  • Develop facilitation measures for inter-departmental cooperation and contribution to identification and mitigation of operations and business risk.
  • Recommend or implement methods to monitor, evaluate, or enable the resolution of safety, operations, or compliance interruptions. Develop contingency plans to deal with organizational emergencies.
  • Plan, configure, verify, update, audit the business continuity management system to meet expectations and certification requirements of ISO  22301:2019.
  • Plan for efficient utilisation of terminal and airfield infrastructural assets during a crisis. Determine minimum operating staffing levels for critical and / or regulated activities.
  • Review existing disaster recovery, crisis management, or business continuity plans for continual improvement requirements.
  • Test documented disaster recovery strategies and plans.
  • Develop emergency management plans for recovery decision making and communications, continuity of critical departmental processes, or temporary shut-down of non-critical departments to ensure continuity of operation and governance.
  • Regularly review disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets such as data centres.
  • Continuously update professional knowledge.
  • Create or administer training and awareness presentations or materials. Train personnel in organisational risk and mitigation compliance procedures.
  • Perform any tasks and duties as directed by the Company’s senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly structured and organised.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a similar role or related field will be considered an asset.
  • Individuals holding certification in BCMSs may be given preference.
