​The Role
The client-facing role consists of advising local and international clients on Governance, Strategy and Management from a technical data perspective. The Systems Engineer will support stakeholders in ensuring that the correct individuals have access to high-quality data when required and said data benefits from adequate protection throughout its lifecycle. An element of ensuring that supporting processes are optimised is also involved.

​Responsibilities

  • ​Design and advise on all aspects of a complex IT ecosystem to solve problems, from the initial creation of the system to production and management through the end product or solution;
  • Support people and process assessments. Based on assessment findings, drive relevant data policy creation (e.g., compliance, quality, security / access, privacy, role competency guidance and role responsibility guidance);
  • Understand technology and people capabilities, comparing to industry best practices to facilitate capability gap closure through, new technologies and revised target operating models backed up with a supporting business case;
  • Understand specific data states (e.g., level of data control within an organisation) to gauge the ability of stakeholders to meet specific requirements (e.g., GDPR Compliance);
  • Maintain an up-to-date view and practical knowledge of industry trends and tools to maintain / enhance KPMG’s data consultancy offerings;
  • Advise stakeholders on the relationship between enhanced business process efficiencies and good data governance (high-quality available data);
  • Suggest ways in which stakeholder business processes may be optimised through the introduction of digitization.

Qualifications
​A computer science degree with the motivation to build a career as a Systems Engineer focused on the interplay between data and business processes.

You may be what we’re looking for if you have

  • ​Certifications or experience related to DAMA, EDM Council, Six Sigma Belt certification and / or similar;
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders to understand the state of their technology and identify improvements that could lead to tangible business benefits;
  • Experience overseeing databases or handling large data sets, for example as a Database Administrator.
