Our Story
Kale & Crumble is an artisan gastro-bakery based in the heart of the Central Business District. We provide our guests with a unique dining experience with a modern and contemporary twist. We are pioneering a new gastro-bakery culinary approach in Malta with an extensive range of fresh and authentic food available to buy, which is also used in creating our dishes. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable and unique experience.

Our Philosophy
We are highly committed to sustainability and authenticity, using only the finest quality ingredients from a combination of local producers and suppliers from Malta and some regions in Italy. From classic recipes to new-age kitchen adventures, each dish reflects a passion for high-quality food whilst paying homage to the founder’s Maltese roots.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a chef to join our team at Kale & Crumble. This position calls for a responsible individual who can work well in a fast-paced environment with previous experience in a similar role, whilst knowledge of pastries is considered favourably. The restaurant will be open during the day from 7:30 to 15:30.

General Duties and Responsibilities
The employee shall be responsible for the following matters:

  • Deliver consistent high-quality food preparation and compliance with all food hygiene regulations
  • Proven all-round skillset: creativity, leadership, communication, organization, and cooking skill
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Keen on working on own initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a natural ability to motivate and inspire colleagues
  • Preparing food as per outlet preparation standards whilst ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner
  • Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, placing orders for replenishment, and ensuring wastage is kept to a minimum
  • Make sure all areas of the kitchen are kept clean and organized at all times


  • Have a relevant qualification in food preparation or culinary arts or equivalent
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of working experience in a similar role
  • Be quality-driven and health and safety conscious
  • Has the ability to work under pressure and handle several concurrent tasks
  • Knowledge of pastry is considered favourably
