Job Description

As our Night Receptionist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk during the overnight hours. You will also be responsible for preparing the necessary reports for the Management team, as well as providing exceptional guest services whilst upholding the hotel’s reputation for excellence.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a front desk environment, with excellent problem-solving and guest service skills. The individual should also be comfortable working and making decisions independently, with limited direction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets and welcomes guests as they arrive during the night shift.
  • Check-in and check-out guests efficiently, ensuring accurate billing and handling of payments.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and provide information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Handles guests’ early morning wake-up calls and follows up on guests’ hotel transfers.
  • Handles guest requests promptly and effectively, going above and beyond to exceed their expectations.
  • Provides assistance with guest reservations and assists with room allocation.
  • Provides beverages and/or limited food service to guests upon request.
  • Ensure security and safety of guests by monitoring the premises and reporting any suspicious activity or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Responds to any security or emergency situations in line with the established SOPs, coordinating with the appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Handles guest complaints and resolves issues in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Collaborates with other hotel departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Performs various night audit tasks, including reconciling accounts and preparing other reports for management.
  • Effectively communicates with the daytime staff to ensure a seamless transition of guest services as well as other data reporting.
  • Carries out other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a similar position.
  • Superior customer service skills, with the ability to anticipate guest needs and provide personalised attention.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with fluency in the English language. Knowledge of other languages is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with hotel management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with limited direction.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and a commitment to maintaining high standards of luxury and service.
  • Required to work nights, including weekends and public holidays.
