Job Description
Part of the Flying Group, Hyperion Aviation is a premium aircraft management and charter company specialising in bespoke asset management and operation of private aircraft on a commercial basis. Our fleet currently stands at 20 aircraft from more than five different manufacturers.

The Safety Manager reports directly to the Managing Director, Accountable Manager and chairs the Safety Resolution Board (SRB) and Safety Action Group (SAG). The Safety Manager must meet the standards set by local Transport Authorities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain an effective Safety Management System (SMS) on behalf of the Managing Director, Accountable Manager.
- Maintain an effective Emergency Response plan.
- Maintain an effective Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) programme.
- Advise and promote safety responsibilities and accountability across departments.
- Ensure a positive link between each part of the organisation where responsibilities may cross departmental boundaries.
- Maintain the Centrik and safety databases.
- Conduct safety analysis, monitor trends, and ensure corrective actions are implemented in response to audit findings.
- Provide support to the SRB and ensure audit of SAG process and the safety risk registers if the SAG members.
- Facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis, and safety training.
- Oversee the implementation of risk mitigation actions and ensure aviation safety remains a top priority across the organization.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, including TM CAD (Transport Malta Civil Aviation Directorate) for security matters.
- Stay up to date with relevant aviation safety legislation and international trends.
- Ensure that aviation safety management has the same or higher priority level throughout the organisation as any other management and operational processes.
Education
- Technical education.
- Auditing techniques training.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Strong understanding of ICAO standards and European safety regulations.
- Experience in safety investigations and human factors in aviation.
Competencies
- Competency in compliance monitoring and risk management systems.
- Management systems, including compliance monitoring, systems and safety management, risk management and operations of the organisation would be considered an asset.
- Other suitable competencies – ability to promote positive safety culture, interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills; oral and written communication skills; data management, analytical and problem-solving skills; professional integrity.
