Job Description

We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven General Manager to direct and manage our organization and activities and also to develop and implement effective operational strategies and programs.

The General Manager will need to have a good IT background possibly having experience in the local IT service industry.

Duties will include, formulating policies, coordinating business operations and monitoring and motivating staff. Managing operational costs, ensuring good customer service, improving administration processes, hiring and training employees and identifying business opportunities.

This role will also have the responsibility for delivering first-class IT services and technologies being outsourced to Malta by HWS Informationssysteme GmbH-Germany and possibly new customers based in Malta.

Working in a 24×7 environment, the General Manager is responsible for, overseeing all SLAs managing and coordinating urgent and complicated support issues and acting as an escalation point for all service. For this role, it is eminent that the candidate should have a proven IT service delivery background with experience in varied technologies and proven people management skills.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily business operations
  • Developing and implementing growth strategies
  • Training low-level managers and staff
  • Creating and managing budgets
  • Improving revenue
  • Evaluating performance and productivity
  • Researching and identifying growth opportunities
  • Generating reports and giving presentations
  • Have regular meetings and communications with the team leads in Germany and Malta to sustain service knowledge in terms of strengths and weaknesses
  • Assist with high-priority requests or high-severity issue escalations as needed

People Management:

  • Support HR Office when necessary
  • Assist in the recruitment process
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with teams in Malta as well as execute performance reviews as needed
  • Drive engagement and motivation to sustain talent and improve attrition numbers
  • Propagate positive teamwork across work groups and drive business results
  • Guide and lead team as a mentor
  • Share constructive feedback with team members to address operational challenges

Qualification and Attributes:

  • Possess a BA/BSc degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of work experience in a related senior management position
  • ITIL awareness
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams working in a challenging and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Attention to detail and strong personal character to proactively manage commitments, SLAs and escalate issues before they become customer issues or missed deliverables
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize according to deadlines and flexibility to manage objectives
  • Flexibility to work occasional extended hours if required to achieve deadlines
