Job Description

The group is distinguished and well established in the hospitality sector with its own branded db Seabank Resort and db San Antonio Hotel and within the leisure sector with its own branded Pearl Spa, Hardrock, and Starbucks development license and outlets, as well as its variety of established restaurants offering various cuisines, including Aki, Amami, Nine Lives, Blu Beach, Westreme, Loa and Sonora.

We are currently looking for a full-time Shift Supervisor to join Hard Rock Cafe.

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Operations team with the day-to-day operations of the cafe, ensuring guest satisfaction, while supporting all departments, including the HOH, expo, bar, hosts, bussers, servers, and retail. Accountable to ensure standards and legal obligations are followed. Once MIT training is successfully completed, the position will be revised to Operations Manager.

Basic functions of the Shift Supervisor include
Communicate the message set forth by the Operations team.
Continuously provide employees with verbal recognition, direction, and support.
Communicate with employees to keep them informed of cafe, regional, and corporate procedures.
Supervise and coordinate activities of various work groups.
Communicate with Managers to evaluate work procedures, review standards, identify methods for increasing efficiency or effectiveness, and respond proactively to any needs that have arisen.
Satisfying any / all needs of the guests – regularly double-checking back with guests throughout their experience.
Monitor employees to ensure performance expectations are met and immediately inform management of employees who fail to meet standards.
Ensure employees adhere to the safety, sanitation and security procedures.
Listen to feedback from guests, employees and other Managers to gain an understanding of areas of strength and opportunities to improve personal / cafe performance.
Be present, on the floor during the entire shift to assist FOH staff with any questions (comps, voids, discounts, etc.) or to provide a helping hand.
Monitor Expo Line and ticket times and be prepared to assist Expo when necessary.
Visit every table to gauge the guest experience and resolve any issues on the spot.
Observe employees while they greet, suggestively sell, ring up sales, etc. to ensure adherence to policy and a positive guest experience.
Work with the Operations Managers to execute all events.
Participate in sound check meetings to communicate incentive programs, implement new products and procedures, and discuss areas of opportunity, special events, etc.
Ensure that staff follows proper procedures to ensure profitability.
Communicate with MOD any safety or equipment issues immediately.
Communicate with other Managers to ensure that assigned FOH duties (i.e. cleaning) were completed.

Job Requirements
Must be at least 21 years old.
Ability to move throughout the corporate office and cafes during visits (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 10 pounds.
Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud / noisy environment.
