Job Description
The Finance Manager’s primary role is to assist the CFO in the administration of the Finance department.
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparation of quarterly management accounts
- Contribute towards operating budget preparations and cashflow forecasts
- Assistance with VAT returns preparation
- Continuously monitor cash flows and operating budgets and attend monthly / weekly departmental meetings
- Monitor the day-to-day bookkeeping process and review bank reconciliations on a daily basis
- Designing, implementing, and reviewing internal controls
- Leading the implementation and management of internal controls governing the company’s inventory control system
- Processing of the works-in-progress function relating to all projects
- Manage and monitor metrics, and KPI tracking, and ensure that the required financial reports are submitted in a timely manner
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary companies
- Payroll analysis, budgeting, and monitoring of productivity
- Liaising with external bodies, including external auditors
- Monitor competitor activity and stay updated about the latest industry trends
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a degree in Accountancy or is currently undergoing an ACCA qualification
- 3+ years’ experience in Accounts Executive role
- Microsoft Office literate: solid Excel knowledge
- Proficient in the use of Financial / Accounting software applications, experience in Sage Evolution will be considered an asset
- Be self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and adhere to deadlines
- Have good organizational and numerical skills
- Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Maltese and English
