We are on the lookout for an experienced individual having excellent communication and leadership skills to join our team as Manager – Gozo Technical Operations!

This role will be based in Gozo and apart from the planning and execution of infrastructural projects, you will also handle day-to-day operations of all GO sites and provide timely solutions.

  • A Technical diploma or City and Guilds or relevant qualifications;
  • Previous experience in using geographic information systems;
  • Working knowledge of Passive Optical Network, Copper and Fibre distribution standards and architectures;
  • Ability to support and aid his/her colleagues by providing technical expertise, assistance on-site and backing as and when necessary;
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organised and self-motivated;
  • Excellent problem solving skills;
  • Strong leadership skills and possessing previous experience of leading a team;
  • Valid driving license;
  • Computer literate and proficient in the use of IT Systems.

Here’s how you can hit a few plus points for this position:

  • A recognised degree in a telecommunications related field or equivalent;
  • Electrical certification in electrical wirings and fittings (wireman licence A).

If this describes you, then this is a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:

  • Managing daily operations and projects in Gozo, which include:
    • The planning, execution and commissioning of network infrastructural projects;
    • The service delivery and support of services to GO residential and business customers;
    • The daily operations of all GO sites;
    • The liaising with the relevant departments in Malta;
    • Spearheading the Company strategy related to network and service maintenance with the principal aim to reduce the number of service interruptions experienced by GO’s customers;
    • Overseeing that work processes are executed to the required quality standards and are completed within the stipulated timeframes;
  • Attending meetings related to new and ongoing projects with the government, local councils, customers, contractors and other third parties;
  • Motivating the teams under your responsibility to improve output, quality of works and team inter relations;
  • Instigating a continuous improvement mentality based on feedback and suggestions from customers and employees;
  • Attending law courts on behalf of GO to give evidence in connection with damages to GO’s network infrastructure;
  • Attaining and transferring skills related to new processes that are introduced from time to time.
