Job Description
Giuseppi’s Restaurant is one of Malta’s longest established restaurants, with Chef-Patron Michael Diacono running the kitchen for over 20 years.
A team of hard-working individuals with a passion for high-quality food and beverage and outstanding customer service.
Daily role would include:
- Welcoming and seating guests
- Advising guests of any specials and assisting with beverage selection
- Consistent monitoring of food, beverage and service standards
- Handling guest complaints
- Suggest food and beverages to the guest and also try to upsell
- Take food and beverage orders from the guest on the handheld Point of sale (POS) system
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
- Filling in for absent staff as needed
- Punch the order on the POS machine and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food
- Communicate to the guest and provide assistance with their queries
- Serve food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order
- Observe guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service
- Promptly respond to guests with any additional request
- Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses
- Prepare mixed drinks for service to your customers table
- Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
- Understands and can communicate products and services available
- Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills
- Any other duties as deemed suitable by the Director and Supervisor
Requirements for all staff:
- Fluent in English
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Previous experience in a similar role
- A passion for food, beverage and excellent customer service with an eye for detail
