Job Description

A vacancy has arisen within Food Chain Ltd. as an IT Specialist, to define, implement and support the company’s IT network, infrastructure, and other technical services and platforms in line with the overall business plan and within the established and approved broader IT architecture.

Food Chain Ltd operates 20 stores in total across Malta for Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC and Boost.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures, that technical solutions and procedures comply with established standards
  • Leads and actively participates in the operation and maintenance of systems within assigned area
  • Defines, develops, configures and supports IT technical applications
  • Oversees the implementation and support of applications
  • Defines hardware, network and other infrastructural requirements and recommends relevant specifications for procurement
  • Leads processes for technical procurement in line with requirements
  • Keeps abreast of technological and IT security trends and applications
  • Acts as liaison with external IT partners, consultants and vendors
  • Identifies and participates in external technical forums in line with Group’s IT infrastructure and IT architecture
  • Understand, communicate and reinforce standard business process concepts and methodologies within the IT organization
  • Works closely with management to prioritise IT projects and define resources
  • Conducts business analysis to ensure that hardware and infrastructural resources are aligned with business needs
  • Assisting in resolving major and / or critical support issues
  • Ensuring IT infrastructure functionality, recommending changes and enhancements
  • Overseeing systems architecture and design
  • Ensuring that project plans and costs, timelines and objectives are met
  • Monitoring of IT policy enforcement, reviewing and updating later as required
  • Promotion and auditing of quality standards
  • Duties include working on highly technical projects and decision-making process

Education and requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business and Information Technology
  • Works on own initiative with minimum direction provided, setting up own standards of performance, planning and working independently
  • Assisting in services both in the general supervision and in achieving results
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Maintains strong attention to quality and detail
  • Solid understanding of business practices with a fundamental understanding of project management
