Job Description

​The FIAU is seeking to strengthen the People and Corporate Services Section, by recruiting a Communications and PR Specialist to join the Communications and PR team. The Communications and PR team plays a pivotal role in fostering transparent and effective communication. It strategically disseminates information to stakeholders, the public, and the media, ensuring clarity on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Funding of Terrorism initiatives. By maintaining a positive public image and enhancing awareness, the Communications and PR role contributes to the organisation’s purpose of safeguarding financial integrity and preventing financial crimes.

The Role
As a Communications and PR Specialist, you will work closely with the Communications and PR Manager by providing continuous support and assistance in:

  • ​Supporting the Manager in the development and implementation of the FIAU’s strategic goals
  • Managing social media platforms, including content creation and scheduling
  • Attend meetings in lieu of the Manager, both internal and external
  • Follow and issue reports on data analytics for our website, our social media platforms, PR campaigns and any other organized campaigns
  • Following daily media / press reviews and reporting to senior management
  • Support with monitoring of the FIAU’s website
  • Support internal communications initiatives
  • Monitoring LinkedIn and Facebook daily, especially after posting, for feedback and comments
  • Daily media reviews
  • Participate during fairs and career initiatives by manning the stand
  • Support the Manager with administrative support in the performance of daily duties, such as logistics for events
  • Any other duties assigned by the Director, Deputy Director, Head, Senior Manager and Manager

Requirements
​The chosen candidate must be in possession of a university degree (MQF Lvl 6) in Digital Marketing, Communication Studies, Marketing, Media and Digital Arts or any other qualification, with at least 3 years’ experience relevant to this post or in possession of a Diploma (MQF Level 5) qualification in Digital Marketing, Communication Studies, Marketing, Media and Digital Arts or any other qualification with at least 4 years’ work experience relevant to this post. Preference may be given to applicants with demonstrated experience in design matters, proficiency with design tools, such as Canva, Indesign, Adobe and Illustrator, event planning and management, social media management, brand management and media / press relations. Effective communication skills in both Maltese and English are essential, along with a proven track record of competence, efficiency, and diligence in design and social media tasks.

The selected candidate should possess excellent communication and public speaking skills, be able to work independently and demonstrate the ability to network effectively. A thorough knowledge of the industry and expertise in measurement and analytics are crucial. The ability to work under pressure, a creative flair, and the capacity to think outside the box are also highly valued. Additionally, the candidate should exhibit strong attention to detail, maintain focus, and display a pleasant personality and good moral character. The ability to work well in a team environment and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour are essential attributes for this role.
