Position description
As a Software Project Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to clients throughout the software project lifecycle. You will collaborate with high-profile clients to understand their business requirements, assess project feasibility, and develop strategic solutions. Your role will involve planning, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of software projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope, timeline, and budget while meeting the desired quality standards. You will serve as a trusted advisor to your clients, leveraging your technical expertise and project management skills to drive successful outcomes.
Job requirements
- Consult with clients to understand their business objectives, requirements, and challenges related to software projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and provide recommendations on project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Developers, and quality assurance colleagues, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients and Project teams throughout the software development life-cycle.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget.
- Conduct regular project status meetings with clients, providing updates on project progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Prepare and deliver project presentations, reports, and documentation to stakeholders.
- Offer post-project support, including knowledge transfer and training to clients.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to software development and project management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Software Project Manager, Consultant, Implementation Specialist or similar role.
- Excellent project management, communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities, with the capability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Genuinely enjoy building relationships with people.
- Excellent written and spoken English (and ideally, but not mandatory, spoken Maltese).
- A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- An organised, pleasant and professional disposition.
