Job Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this position requires an individual with a proven track record in a Stores department ideally within a hotel environment.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing the day-to-day stock movement transactions in line with budgetary targets.
  • Storing and issuing of all stock items in the hotel.
  • Issues and records all requisitions from stores to the outlets and hotel departments.
  • Processes all relevant issue requests and returns through the nominated purchasing / cost control system in a timely manner and keeps records safe.
  • Maintains the system information (the stores function only) updated and organized, and that month-end transfers and issues are completed in a timely manner.
  • Establishing and maintaining accurate par stock levels and alert the Purchasing Manager of low stock for reordering purposes and avoiding overstocking.
  • Ensuring effective stock rotation and highlighting potential wastage.
  • Assists with monthly stock-takes of the inventory storerooms and other areas as directed alongside the Stores Assistant and Cost Controller.
  • Oversee the Stores team and ensure objectives and daily and monthly tasks are completed.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience within a stores / goods receiving or purchasing function essential.
  • Be well-organized and possess time management skills.
  • Be able to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English and Maltese.
  • Computer literate, especially using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Have a valid food handler’s license.
