Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and energetic Area Sales Manager – Groups for the Corinthia St George’s Bay Peninsula and Hotel Verdi. We are looking for someone with a can-do approach, attentive to detail, customer and people-focused, an individual who is able to distinguish and relate to different characters and situations.
The candidate will be responsible to:
- Develop and create sales plans for the segments designated to candidates.
- Develops and maintains key accounts through personal sales calls, correspondence with existing / potential client base, and attendance at travel and related industry meeting / trade shows / sales blitz.
- Handles all inquiries from potential clients that may involve meetings, site inspections, negotiations and contract writing.
- Plans sales activities for himself / herself as well as for all the sales team members by identifying potential clients, organizing sales calls and sales blitz to develop new business.
- Conduct educational trips for existing and potential clients.
- Achieve monthly budget goals and new business targets.
- Organizes VIP arrivals, welcomes and provides them with assistance during their stay in order to meet guest satisfaction.
- Monitors and reviews sales performance through weekly sales calls report ensuring the hotel’s objectives are met with regard to room revenues.
- Be familiar with the products and services that Radisson Blu St Julian’s and Corinthia Hotels have to offer together with the ‘unique selling points’ of the property.
- Identify new and potential markets and increase revenue in line with the hotel pricing and revenue strategy.
- Develop and maintain a seasonality calendar based on the segment being managed.
- Be responsible for compiling and presenting reports on MICE or Group market segments.
- Implement sales promotion actions in-house, locally, regionally and supra-regionally.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with RSOs and other sales functions.
- Responsible for key accounts based both locally and internationally.
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
- A degree in business management, hotel management, marketing or equivalent will be considered an asset.
- Have 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Have good administrative skills, be computer literate and must be conversant with MS Office applications and ideally Opera. Have a good command of the English language. Good command of other European languages will be considered an asset.
- Be proactive and take initiative.
- Be logical, accurate and able to multitask.
- Possess strong leadership skills.
