Job Description

The applicant should have/be:

  • in possession of a valid basic food hygiene certificate
  • completed a chef diploma in a recognised culinary school locally or overseas
  • previous experience in some well-known catering establishments
  • excellent grooming standards
  • creative and innovative – responsible and capable of creating a good selling menu and changing it frequently, always keeping in mind current culinary trends
  • capable of working in a busy environment
  • capable of leading and working alone in the kitchen
  • excellent planning and organising skills
  • committed to delivering high-quality food on time whilst following HACCP regulations
  • organised and tidy and attentive to cleanliness at all times in the kitchen, ensuring no situations of cross-contamination
  • good communication skills
  • able to speak and understand Maltese
  • a positive attitude and capable of working in a team and maintaining¬† a good relationship with his or her colleagues
  • assist other departments when necessary
