Job Purpose
Assists the Catering Services Manager in managing daily operations and assists with menu planning, maintains sanitation standards and assists servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods. The job also entails coordinating the outside functions. The purpose is to strive to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize financial performance in areas of responsibility.
The Catering Services Coordinator will be supporting the Catering Services Manager who will be the company’s representative on location and thus be the main liaison with the hotel’s owners and management including outside functions.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Catering Services Manager in team organisation
- Creates a positive team atmosphere among team members
- Oversees the dining area, supervises food and beverage service staff in accordance with operating policies
- Take over events organisation and outside catering functions whilst maintaining a high level of service
- Ensure the quality of service and service provision
- Works with Food and Beverage staff to ensure proper food-handling procedures
- Assist the Catering Services Manager in handling guest complaints in restaurants and is capable of handling irate customers with a friendly / calm
- Assist with organising maintenance and repair of equipment and other services
- Assist with the employees’ weekly roster
- Coaches team on how to exceed guest expectations
- Effectively identifies restaurant problems through reports and can ideate and execute to resolve the same

- Experience is considered an asset
- In possession of a driving licence
