Information Security Analyst

We are hiring an Information Security Analyst to work in our Information Security team. The Catena Media InfoSec team is a global effort reporting to the Tech function to keep the company information safe and secure.

Scope of the job
You will monitor our networks, infrastructure, and applications for security vulnerabilities, install and maintain security software updated at all times, and document breaches you uncover during your daily duties. To do well in this role, you should either have prior experience in the information security field or a willingness to venture and grow into it.

Your challenge:

• Monitor computer networks and infrastructure for security issues through our Security Incident and Events Management (SIEM) solution;


• Act as our Security Operations Centre team's first line of support internally;


• Assisting with security breaches and other cyber security incidents, investigating and document them accordingly;


• Install, update and maintain security tooling and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs;


• Work with the rest of the Information Security team to uncover and coordinate fixes for detected and verified vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard within our applications, networks and endpoints.


• Stay informed on the latest Information Security trends and news;


• Develop company-wide best practices for Information Security;


• Assist with the implementation and management of information security systems;


• Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management;


• Be an Information Security champion consistent with cybersecurity best practices;


• Be at the office a few days a week to support the physical security infrastructure of the office.

To do it, you will need:

• To be the kind of person who finds joy in finding needles in haystacks, four-leaf clovers in a meadow, and generally passionate about security and willing to learn about information security;


• 1-2 years of experience working in an Information Security role or similar is desirable ;


• A basic understanding of the media and iGaming industry;


• A basic grasp of information security concepts (deep technical knowledge is not required as training will be provided);


• Advantageous - relevant certifications in Information Security or willing to attain during the probation period;


• Experience with computer infrastructure and networking;


• Understanding firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and vulnerability scanning concepts.


• Ability to identify and mitigate system, network, and application vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them;


• Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches promptly while understanding business impact;


• Be comfortable working on an on-call basis;


• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related industry qualifications (such as CompTIA Security+ or ISACA’s CSX Foundation) is considered an asset.
