Job Description

Following a multi-million investment, the newly renovated hotel comprises 293 bedrooms and suites, 2 food and beverage outlets, as well as a heated panoramic pool with breathtaking views over St. George’s Bay.

As an Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for all the sections within the Maintenance department and will report to the Head of Maintenance.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing regular checks, identifying issues, planning maintenance needs, and ensuring completion with stipulated time frames
  • Assuring the performance of works and resources are utilized in the best possible manner
  • Prioritize unscheduled tasks which may arise from time to time and ensure matters are addressed in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that guest complaints are responded to promptly
  • Assist in the procurement procedure related to maintenance tasks and ensures stock levels are adequately kept
  • Monitoring the functionality of all technical equipment
  • Preparing staff roasters including overlooking team attendance, punctuality, discipline and planning of leave in addition to other administrative duties
  • Enforcing and keeping abreast H&S regulations
  • Liaise with other departments as required


  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a maintenance role
  • Certified by MCAST (H&D/HTD) or a technical institute MQF level 4/5 in a related field
  • Maltese qualification licence A would be preferred
  • Advanced understanding of maintenance procedures and techniques
  • Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks
