The Financial Analyst within Crane Malta will work closely to the supply chain, ensuring that management information is accurate and timely by exploiting the company’s information system/s. The Financial Analyst will guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; identifying opportunities; recommending actions.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborate with the technical team to determine standard costs.
  • Prepare cost estimates within agreed time limits.
  • Identify, propose and help develop efficient data collection systems.
  • Continuously improve on the accuracy and timeliness of management information.
  • Calculate cost variances, analyse results, identify and monitor trends.
  • Develop standard automated reports on operational costs for shop floor management as well as for site and overseas management.
  • Design stock reporting that is geared towards maintaining inventory at its optimum level.
  • Actively participate in the shop floor management system by recommending actions supported by the financial data analysis.
  • Support the Business Partner with the forecasting and budgeting process ensuring that they represent realistic, efficient, and effective plans.
  • Make the best use of the company’s information system/s to support operations.
  • Understand the key product cost drivers. Work with others to coordinate cost improvement plans and implement them.
  • Be responsible for proper accounting for sales, production costs and stock.
  • Engage with colleagues to promote a high performing Finance team that benefits from flexibility among team members.
  • It is the employee’s responsibility to comply with the Company’s safety policies, ensuring that all personal protective equipment is in place and that good judgment and care are exercised to prevent accidents and personal injury.

  • In possession of an AAT diploma in accounting or at an advanced stage of attaining the ACCA or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical accounting knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understands the various components that make up the product cost as well as the technical aspect of the production processes.
  • Ability to master ERP and other management information systems.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel and proficient in other Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to organise information into a coherent and meaningful format.
  • Capable of working with production teams within a finance team to deliver business goals.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working on own initiative.
  • Experience with continuous improvement programs (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean, etc.). Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Exhibit a positive attitude and initiative.
  • Must have motivation and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a respectable work history with minimal attendance and lateness issues.
  • Understand the principles and comply with practice of lean manufacturing, 5S methodology and continuous improvement.
  • To always act and behave in a way compliant with all Company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to environment health and safety, ethics and codes of conduct.
